Why is Meribel the perfect location for a Flexi Ski holiday?

So now you know why we set up Flexi Chalets and a little more about what it is that we do, we thought we’d tell you about why there’s simply nowhere better for a Flexi holiday, than our beloved Meribel!

It’s safe to say that aside from the skiing, food is always a pretty fundamental part of any ski holiday. Whilst Meribel’s range of delicious local cuisine isn’t QUITE as extensive as the 600km (plus) of pistes on your door step whilst staying here, it’s certainly not far off! Nor are the other après activities that can be found in Meribel, so keep reading for a small taste of Meribel has to offer…

Food

Whether you’re looking to indulge with some of Meribel’s most spectacular Savoyard specialties, a slice of Italian heaven or simply pick up some Californian rolls on the go – there’s quite literally something for everyone.

You know what they say – When in Rome! Where better in the world to put your diet on hold to enjoy French patisseries, than in France? Both Meribel Centre and Village are graced with Boulangeries offering truly scrumptious fresh bread and patisseries. The boulangeries are the perfect one stop shop for a picnic fit for a king to be enjoyed on the mountain in one of the three valleys many picturesque picnic spots.

The Village Boulangerie also offers freshly baked stone oven pizzas that are just simply not to be missed.

Meribels après hot spots are regarded far and wide. Home to one of the globally recognised Folie Douce and its very own Le Rond Point and the Lodge du Village, just to name a few. There’s plenty of choose from with each bar offering a different vibe and resident live musicians throughout the week.

We hate to sound like we’re repeating ourselves…however, Meribel also boasts a number conveniently located supermarkets. All of our chalets are within walking distance to a Spar shop, so you’ll never have to travel far to source any ingredients needed for a tasty home-made meal, snacks or refreshments.

Evening entertainment

If an action-packed day on the slopes still isn’t enough, you can enjoy further adventure at Meribel’s Parc Olympic located right in the centre of Meribel.

Here you can go swimming and use the centres spa facilities as well as, go ice skating and bowling.

You can also catch Meribel’s local Ice Hockey team playing here regularly, with tickets priced around €10 and the roaring local supporters making for an exciting atmosphere. It’s definitely a night worth pulling yourself away from the warmth of the fire for.
