Skiing in Meribel
600km of pistes, a network of 200 lifts and unlimited opportunities for incredible experiences, make Meribel an unforgettable ski destination.
Meribel & The Three Valleys
Sitting at the heart of the Trois Valées, there are extensive opportunities for all levels of skiers and boarders – 50 runs for beginners, 101 reds and 117 blue runs for those intermediates looking to extend their skills and push their bravery levels.
The piste bashers do their work every night but there are still bumps and humps to play with including great moguls. For those who want to explore further from the 27 black runs you can access acres of impressively steep off-piste and extreme couloirs.
The whole of the Three Valleys area includes the resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. The Valley of Courchevel is easily accessible via the Saulire bubble or the Col de Loze chair (quicker if you’re based in Meribel Village) and you can scale the dizzy heights of Val Thorens in under an hour.
The extensive lift system is constantly being developed to ensure people won’t waste time in queues or slow lifts. The Golf chair lift’s upgrade has halved transfer time from Meribel Village.
Off-piste powder junkies will love the open slopes of La Masse and Mont Vallon. Whatever your ability, you can challenge yourself in the attempt to gain the ‘Expert Skier’ award by visiting the furthest reaches of the Three Valleys.
No matter what the weather is doing, the highest peak in the Three Valleys towers at almost 3300m and 85% of the pistes are over 1800m, which assures you excellent skiing throughout the long season. Meribel’s virtually unrivalled investment in snow cannons ensures good cover on the home runs until the last week of the season. There are now 2000 cannons which between them cover over a third of the total ski area.
Thrill seekers and jumpers have two fantastic snow parks in the Meribel valley to play in, designed specifically to cater for both beginners and advanced freestyle snowboarders and skiers. The Moon Park can be found next to the Arpasson drag lift, while the Plattieres snow park is located above Mottaret.
Whatever your level and goals for your time in Meribel the choices are there to ensure you never have to repeat the same slope twice if you don’t want to. Variety and quality are abundant. Every effort has been made to ensure the best experience is in your adventurous hands.
